Presents
REV. CARLTON MILLS
as

"Uncle Buddy Robinson"
Rev. Carlton Mills
Rev. Carlton Mills has traveled in the field of evangelism for the Church of the Nazarene for over 20 years.  He is available for revivals, camp meetings, seminars, etc. His ministry centers on the preaching of holiness.

We pray that through his ministry you will receive a new touch of the Holy Spirit.
Born in Tennessee in 1860, "Uncle Bud" came from very humble and godless beginnings. At the age of 20 he entered a church for the first time. The Holy Spirit convicted him of sin and he made a complete turn in his life.

God called him to preach and he traveled from coast to coast becoming a "household name" in holiness circles. His simple and childlike faith, coupled with his humor and homespun illustrations, made him one of the foremost personalities of the Church of the Nazarene.
RESPECTFULLY PORTRAYING

Dear Family and Friends,

This letter is to give you an up-date on what's happening with us.

On Friday, May 30th, Carlton had a second DBS (Deep Brain Stimulization) surgery.  These surgeries are to help control the tremors, among other benefits, of the Parkinson's Disease that he has had for the past 7 years or so.  The doctors were pleased with the surgery, and after several trips to Gainesville, FL for "tweeking", the tremors in his arms and hands should be under control.  This is not a cure, only a proceedure to help give him a better quality of life.

We spent time with his doctors last Thursday, June 5, discussing what to expect now that this surgery is over.  We were in hopes that they would be able to help with others problems caused by the Parkinsons.  They did not give us any hope concerning his speech.  He is having trouble with the volume of his voice, and he is developing a noticable slur when he talks.  He is also loosing his ability to "think on his feet."  It wasn't long ago that he could take any subject or scripture and deliver a sermon that would challenge and inspire.  Now we are finding that it is not only difficult for him to gather his thoughts, but it is increasingly hard for him to make himself understood.

Therefore, last evening, Sunday, June 8, he submitted his resignation as pastor here at N. Fort Myers Church of the Nazarene.   This was a very difficult thing to do, but we feel it is for the best for the church and for the Kingdom.  We are trusting for God's guidance for our future.

We will have to sell one of our automobiles and our present home.  We are hoping to move closer to our girls for emergency purposes.  Please pray for us that God will perform some miracles, as the sales markets are not good, as you all know.  If you know of someone who might be interested in a manufactured home in a 55+ park in sunny, south Florida, we are open to all offers.  We love it here, but things are changing.

Keep us in your prayers that God's perfect will will be known to us.

Thanks for being there, for your love and for your friendship.

Miriam
